Giraffes have long necks so they can eat juicy leaves off the top of trees. Giraffes live in the jungle on the plains of Africa. Their life-cycle is the same as humans, cows, sheep horses, cats and dogs. Their enemies are the big cats that eat meat from other animals. Giraffes have brown patches on their body and a long tongue that helps them to reach leaves. The giraffe wraps its tongue around the leaf and then it pulls until the leaf comes off. Baby giraffes are called calves like a baby cow. Giraffes are mammals because they are warm blooded. Baby giraffes also drink milk from their mothers. Giraffes are the tallest animal on land.
